Waxing Aftercare
Following these guidelines will ensure your skin is cared for properly over the next few days and during hair regrowth, allowing you to get the best from your service.
It is common and perfectly normal to experience slight soreness, small bumps and redness after your treatment, especially if this is your first time being waxed. However, these symptoms are only temporary and should subside within 24-48 hours. If the redness or irritation persists or if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Guidelines to follow over the next 24-48 hours
-
Keep the waxed area clean and avoid heat and friction during the next 24 hours
-
No hot baths or showers (tepid water only)
-
No saunas, hot tubs or steam rooms
-
No swimming
-
No sports or exercising activities
-
No tanning (sunbathing, sun beds or fake tanning)
-
No use of deodorant or perfumed products
-
Use only after wax to moisturise the skin
-
Wear loose fitting clothes
-
No exfoliating for 2-3 days after treatment
-
Avoid sexual contact (intimate waxing only)
You may notice a small amount of hair re-growth after a week or so, it can take up to four treatments to get your hair into a cycle of growth that gives the best results.
-
Hair needs to be at least ½ cm long before it can be successfully removed by waxing.
-
Please do not shave between appointments.
-
To maintain your smooth hair-free appearance, we would recommend waxing every 4-6 weeks.
Preventing Ingrown Hairs
-
Starting a few days after treatment, gently scrub the skin three times a week in the bath or shower using a loofah or an exfoliating mitt. We recommend using a body scrub.
-
Moisturise the waxed area daily, this will help keep the area supple and help new hairs to grow normally.
